The story of Amos Golan's life
Amos Golan was born in 1955. He joined the IDF in 1973 and volunteered for the Paratroopers, serving in the 202nd Battalion.
He fought in the Yom Kippur War and later served as a platoon and company commander, including in Operation Litani. He then served in the Yamam, including during the First Lebanon War, and headed its counter-terrorism school. He became the third commander of the Duvdevan Unit.
In July 1992 a Duvdevan soldier, Eli Isha, was killed by friendly fire during an operation in Barta'a after Golan changed the plan. Golan was removed from his post, but the Military Advocate General decided twice not to indict him. The family's petition to the High Court of Justice was rejected.
After his discharge he worked in the arms trade and brokered deals between Israeli defense firms and the government of Uganda. He served as Uganda's honorary consul in Israel until 2011. In 1995 he founded Silver Shadow, which presented the CornerShot in 2003.
