Aya Koren

Aya Koren is an Israeli actress and former model who worked in television and film in the early 2000s before becoming religiously observant.

Aya Koren was born in 1979 in Tel Aviv

Aya Koren was born Aya Steinovitz in Tel Aviv and grew up in Herzliya. She began modeling professionally at a young age and took part in the Golden Model contest in 1995.

She enlisted in the IDF in 1997 and served in a military band with Yehuda Levi. After her service she studied acting at the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio.

In 2000 she had guest roles in the series Florentine and The Bourgeois. Her first film role came in 2001 in Late Marriage, and in 2002 she acted in Yossi & Jagger and the series Wings. In 2003 she starred in the telenovela Love Around the Corner, which earned her a Golden Screen Award, and was nominated for an Ophir Award for Shlomi's Stars.

Koren became religiously observant and later left acting. In 2006 she was dismissed from a maternity clothing campaign after refusing to be photographed with her pregnant belly exposed. She is married to Eyal Koren, and they have daughters.
