After the army she sang backup vocals on many recordings, including Arik Einstein's song "Atur Mitzchech" with Ravitz. In 1980 she studied at the Academy of Music. She released her first album in 1984, and her albums Antarctica, Sfat Imi and Zan Nadir were produced by Ravitz.

Her song "Ein Li Eretz Acheret" was sung widely in Israel. She received the AKUM prize in 2003 and the Landau Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.

Allal lived openly as a lesbian with her partner and manager Ruti Allal, and they raised 2 sons in moshav Ganot. She revealed a breast cancer battle in 2009 and a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2023. She died at Tel HaShomer hospital in December 2024.
