Eran Vigoda-Gadot was born in 1966 in Kiryat Chaim

Eran Vigoda-Gadot was born in 1966 in Kiryat Chaim. He finished ORT Kiryat Bialik high school in 1984. He lives in Haifa.

He served in the IDF from 1986 to 1990 and still serves in the Air Defense Command as a major. All his degrees are from the University of Haifa: a BA in political science and sociology in 1993, an MA in public administration and policy in 1995, and a PhD in the same field in 1999.

After postdoctoral work in Britain and at the University of Georgia, he joined the University of Haifa as a lecturer. He founded and first headed its Department of Public Administration and Policy from 2003 to 2008, became a professor in 2006, and headed the School of Political Science from 2009 to 2013. He was dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences from 2016 to 2020.

Since 2001 he has led an international project that assesses public sector performance in Israel from the public's view. He founded the university's Center for Public Management and Policy in 2004 and set up the POP-I Lab. He was a visiting researcher at Harvard, McGill, Leuven and FGV, and chaired the 2020 Israel Prize committee for political science.
