Haim Boger was born in 1876 in Chernihivka

Haim Bograshov was born in 1876 in Chernihivka, in Taurida Governorate of the Russian Empire. His father, Dov Nachum Bograshov, was the community rabbi. He studied religious texts with his father and his uncle.

He finished gymnasium studies in Berdyansk and qualified as a teacher. He taught at a Hebrew girls' gymnasium in Yekaterinoslav from 1899 to 1901. He then studied at the University of Bern and completed a doctorate in philosophy in 1906.

He was a leader of the Zionists for Zion, who opposed the Uganda Program, and took part in many Zionist Congresses. In 1906 he immigrated to the Land of Israel and helped turn the Herzliya Hebrew High School into a public institution. He taught geography there and was its principal for many years, until 1951.

During World War I he was expelled from Tel Aviv and founded a school for refugee children in Alexandria. After the 1921 riots he founded the Nordia neighborhood in Tel Aviv for homeless people. He served on the Tel Aviv City Council from 1921 to 1930.

He was elected to the second Knesset for the General Zionists and chaired its opening session as its oldest member. He lost his seat in 1955 and died in 1963. Bograshov Street and Bograshov Beach in Tel Aviv bear his name.
