Michal Been was born in 1994 in Israel

Michal Been was born in Israel on October 4, 1994. She began playing at age 8 on the boys' team of Maccabi Tel Aviv Darom HaSharon at Kibbutz Eyal, a mixed Jewish and Arab club, and from age 10 also played for the girls of Maccabi Kishronot Hadera. At 13 she had to leave the boys' team because of league rules and continued in Hadera.

In 2012 she received a full 4-year scholarship to CCSU in Connecticut and began studying psychology. She was called back to enlist, and after a public struggle the quota for exceptional athlete status was raised from 12 to 16 and she received it. After 1 year she returned to Israel and stopped playing because of a repeat knee injury that required more surgery.

In 2013 she gave up that status, enlisted in the IDF and served as an Iron Dome instructor in the Air Defense Command.

She returned to football with Hapoel Ra'anana in 2017/2018, scoring 7 goals over 2 seasons, and was nominated for player of the season in 2018/2019. In 2017 she completed a coaching course at the Wingate Institute and coached girls in Ra'anana. In 2019/2020 she moved to ASA Tel Aviv, and in 2020 she made her debut for the senior women's national team against Georgia.
