Morris Kahn was born in 1930 in Benoni
Morris Kahn was born in 1930 in Benoni, South Africa, to a Jewish family with roots in Lithuania. He was the eldest child of Philip and Beattie Kahn and was active in the Zionist youth movement Habonim.
In 1956 he moved to Israel with his wife Jacqueline and their two sons. In Israel he studied accounting and tried several ventures, including a bicycle factory in Beit Shemesh and a cattle business in the north, which did not succeed.
In 1968 he began publishing the Golden Pages phone directories, which led to the founding of Amdocs in 1982. Through the Aurec Group he held stakes in Golden Channels, Golden Lines, Netcom and other firms. In 1974 he founded Coral World, which runs underwater observatories, including one in Eilat.
Kahn supported medical research, environmental work and children's causes, and backed Zalul, which cleans Israel's waters. From 2012 he donated to SpaceIL and later chaired it. After Beresheet crashed on the Moon in 2019, he announced Beresheet 2.
His wife Jacqueline died in 2011. Kahn died on 1 January 2026.
