שר התחבורה רשאי לפטור כלי שיט פלוני או סוג פלוני של כלי שיט, לחלוטין או לתקופה מסויימת –
(1)מתחולת חוק זה, כולו או מקצתו – אם ראה לכך טעמים של טובת המדינה;
(2)מתחולת הוראות הפרקים השני, השלישי והחמישי – אם ראה לכך טעמים סבירים אחרים.
