Adi Ashkenazi went from children's TV and comedy clubs to a series of her own
Adi Ashkenazi was born in 1975 and grew up in Herzliya. She studied acting at Beit Zvi, acted in theatre and began doing stand-up at the Camel Comedy Club, while hosting children's shows on Channel 1. In 2000 she joined the renewed Domino Gross on Educational Television.
Her break came in 2002, presenting the comic segment on Yair Lapid's talk show on Channel 2. In 2005 she launched her own docu-comedy series, Ma Ze HaShtuyot HaEle?! (What's This Nonsense?!), which she also produces. It made her television woman of the year at Channel 2's People of the Year awards in 2006, and in 2008 the American network CBS bought the show.
She starred with Moli Shulman in the sitcom Bilti Hafich (2013), led her own series, Shitat Ashkenazi, on Channel 12 in 2021, and finished second on Dancing with the Stars in 2022. In 2024 she hosted Hayiti Meta, a comic documentary series on Kan 11 about life and death.
