Arik Sinai broke through in 1977 with a song Shlomo Artzi wrote for him

Arik Sinai was born in 1949 in Kiryat Bialik. After singing in several bands in the 1970s, he broke through in November 1977 with his first radio single, Shir Prida, written and composed by Shlomo Artzi, which reached number 9 on the year's chart.

His first album, Arik Sinai (1980), carried the hit Derekh HaKurkar, by Yaakov Gilad and Corinne Allal, and Tzel Kaved (1981), produced by Matti Caspi, added Siba Tova and Im Ata BaSviva. He recorded BeSof Maagal (1983) in London, with Hebrew lyrics by Yehonatan Geffen, and in 1985 finished fourth in Kdam Eurovision.

Makhur (2002), by Amir Lev, was a hit and was followed by Nohav Ad Shenamut (2003), produced by Assaf Amdursky, and in 2007 he began a show of Leonard Cohen songs. In May 2026 he released Kol HaShirim HaYafim BeEmet, an album of covers of Israeli songs made with the producers Patrick Sabag and Yahel Doron.
