Guy Mazig went from the guitar in HaDorbanim to a solo career and the producer's chair

Guy Mazig was born in Lod in 1978. He started out on trumpet in Lod's youth orchestra, began playing guitar at 14 and taught himself music through high school. He became known as guitarist and singer of HaDorbanim, the disco-pop band whose debut album Kobi (2003) went gold and which Galgalatz named ensemble of the year in 2006.

Alongside his own music he has worked as a guitarist, arranger and musical director: he was in Shiri Maimon's band at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest and played in Kaveret's reunion concerts in 2013. He has written music for television, from HaMaestro to Shabas and HaPijamot, and a piece for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland.

His first solo album, HaShahor HaHadash, came out in December 2015 and won him ACUM's arranger of the year prize in 2017. HaShahor HaHadash Yoter followed in 2021 and Mitmazeg in April 2025. His music nods to Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson, and in October 2026 he marks ten years of HaShahor HaHadash with a show at Zappa Amphi Shuni.
