HaDabeshet is a kosher coffee cart on the hill of the Negev Brigade Monument, Dani Karavan's concrete memorial to the Palmach's Negev Brigade on the eastern edge of Beer Sheva, with tables, wooden decks and dozens of seats looking out over the city and the desert. Three friends who grew up in Beer Sheva and studied together at the city's Bnei Akiva yeshiva, Ohel Shlomo, opened it at the turn of 2025, at 28 by the press's account that year: Eyal Shoshan, who runs the cart day to day, Neria Yochai and Ariel Melitz. Israel Hayom wrote in February 2025 that it had only just opened and was still in its trial run. mako reported in 2026 that it opened under a call from Yeadim, the city's business development company, for food trucks at set spots around the city, and Makor Rishon wrote in May 2025 that an events hall once stood there and the place had lain empty for years. Shoshan told Makor Rishon that a dabeshet, a hump, is a place you climb to and a peak you want to conquer, and that the monument is the highest point around. The menu is dairy: coffee and other hot and cold drinks, tea in a pot with Moroccan glasses, toasts, sandwiches, pizzas from a taboon oven, salads, pastries and cookies baked on the spot. Its house dish is the Dabeshet toast, and its iced coffee comes in branded cans to take home. In July 2025 mako put the toasts at 30 to 44 shekels, the sandwiches at 38 to 44, iced tea at 20 and the cookies, among them a vegan gluten-free brownie, at 14 to 40. Friday is its busiest day: Makor Rishon found a sign showing where the queue starts, and Shoshan said 13 people worked there on Fridays. Israel Hayom suggested coming in the late afternoon, just before sunset, and mako named sunset as the time to come, for the high seats of its "bar to the desert" that face the horizon. mako wrote in 2025 of second-hand sales, yoga on Mondays and stalls and live music on Fridays, and in 2026 of film evenings and shows. For rainy days there is a large heated tent that holds dozens of people. It is open until 22:00 from Tuesday to Thursday and closed on Saturday.
