Bao-Bar is the café, bar and dairy restaurant in the lobby of the Ein Gedi Hotel on Kibbutz Ein Gedi. It is named after the baobab tree planted in the middle of its wooden deck: one side looks over a wide lawn with the two oldest baobabs on the kibbutz, the other over the Dead Sea and the mountains of Moab. Its menu, which the hotel calls a culinary journey of wandering in the Judean Desert, draws on the communities that lived in the area, from the ancient Hebrew and Canaanite kitchen through Middle Eastern flavours to the kibbutz dining room, and is served as sharing plates. It is open every day from 10:00 to 23:00, with the kitchen working from 13:00 to 22:00, and hotel guests are sent here for lunch.
