Kibbutz Gesher HaZiv, Gesher HaZiv

A café, deli and beer garden in the restored British army buildings of Kibbutz Gesher HaZiv's first courtyard, from the team behind the Breakfast Club in Shavei Tzion

Jacques is a food and drink compound in a group of buildings put up in the early 1940s as a British army camp, one of which became the dining hall and only meeting place of Kibbutz Gesher HaZiv when the kibbutz was founded in 1949; the kibbutz is named for the 14 Palmach fighters who fell in the 1946 operation to blow up the nearby Az-Ziv bridge. Behind it are the Breakfast Club in Shavei Tzion and Goz and Daniel in Bnei Zion, and its site set the start of its trial run for 1 April 2025. Jacques Delicatessen, in the old cowshed, is a café and deli with sandwiches, salads, pastries, coffee, wine and picnic goods to take to the beach or the trails; Generator, the old equipment store, is a beer garden serving arancini, pizzas, burgers, fish and chips, fried calamari and beers on tap; and Jacqueline is a lounge for small events and pop-ups. Everything comes out of one kitchen that cooks and bakes from scratch, and its tourism listing says the old dining hall is soon to become a seasonal bistro.
