A Yemenite restaurant in the centre of Hadera, founded by the Jacobi family in 1974, where Grandma Rachel still cooks

The Jacobi family founded Opera in the centre of Hadera in 1974, and by its own account Grandma Rachel still cooks there. The kitchen cooks every day and serves traditional dishes from every community with the weight on Yemenite food: Yemenite beef, chicken and leg soups with lahoh, stews, stuffed vegetables, grilled skewers and fish. Some dishes come on set days, mafrum and couscous on Wednesdays and chopped liver on Thursdays and Fridays. A factory born from the restaurant sells Opera's products under the brand Shloshet HaOfim, and the restaurant has two private rooms for events, for up to 35 and up to 80 guests. It is kosher under the Hadera religious council and closes for Shabbat.
