A Mediterranean restaurant in an old stone house on Ben Gurion Avenue since 1997, with a terrace facing the Baha'i Gardens

Fattoush has been at 38 Ben Gurion Avenue in Haifa's German Colony since 1997, in an old stone building, and its site calls it the oldest culinary institution on the avenue: it was once the only restaurant in the area, and a whole row of restaurants grew up along the street after it. The kitchen is Mediterranean, inspired by Arab cooking, with colourful dishes made by hand from fresh ingredients. Its site says it is more than a restaurant: a hall of culture that joins food with music from around the world and with works by young artists on the walls of the gallery next door. Events are held in private rooms for 12 to 34 guests or on the terrace that looks out to the Baha'i Gardens. It opens every day from 08:30, with breakfasts until 13:00.
