The Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center is a pontifical institute owned by the Vatican, founded in 1888 to welcome pilgrims and standing opposite the New Gate, steps from the walls of the Old City. Its site says it has been administered by the Legionaries of Christ since 2004 and is open to guests of every faith. The guesthouse has simple standard rooms, kept without televisions for quiet, rooms with a balcony or a terrace, deluxe rooms and suites, and every stay includes breakfast and entry to the Shroud Exhibit, the Pentecost Room and the 360° Lookout. The centre also holds a chapel with daily Catholic services, a rooftop restaurant, a bistro and a dining room, and guests park free on site when there is space.
