The Bazak family's boutique winery in Karmei Yosef, pouring its wines in the family's yard among nearly 500 dunams of its own vineyards

Bazak Winery is a family boutique winery in Karmei Yosef, led today by the brothers Amos Bazak, its winemaker, and Amichai Bazak, with the rest of the family. The family has farmed in Karmei Yosef since 1974, when Hanan and Malka Bazak, a young couple of agronomists, settled in the moshav; Hanan was the Agriculture Ministry's national vine adviser and chaired the Wine Grape Council. The family began making wine from its own vineyard in 2007, and in 2019 Amos took the winery in hand and built it into a boutique winery. Its vineyards cover nearly 500 dunams on the chalky, stony hills of Karmei Yosef, in plots named Givat HaBesamim, Tel Gezer and the Lone Tree, with one more at Sharona in the Lower Galilee. Guests taste the wines in the family's yard with a rich spread, and the winery offers tours of the vineyards and the barrel cellar, picnic baskets to take into the vines, jazz shows, wine events and hosting for groups.
