Yaara Winery is a small boutique winery in Karmei Yosef owned by Hadar and Shmulik Ovadia. Shmulik came to wine through an amateur winemaking course and went on to study oenology; their wine was first sold by word of mouth, at tasting evenings and chef's dinners, until in November 2022 they opened a small visitor centre in their yard, which looks out over ancient Tel Gezer. The winery makes only red wines, among them Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, and blends whose grapes are picked on the same day and fermented together, all aged at least 18 months in French oak barrels. Its Petit Verdot 2021, named Hashlosha, is dedicated to three childhood friends of Shmulik's son who were killed at the Nova festival. Guests taste the wines with a cheese platter, vegetables and dips, and the winery hosts private events of up to 100 people as well as evenings of its own.
