8 Barshavski Street, HaRova, the old industrial zone, Rishon LeZion

A kosher meat restaurant in Rishon LeZion's old industrial zone that turned Turkish in 2019, with beef from the Golan Heights sold by weight and a Turkish violinist on Sundays

Campania is a kosher meat restaurant at 8 Barshavski Street, in HaRova, the restaurant quarter of Rishon LeZion's old industrial zone, and its own pages call it a Turkish restaurant. It belongs to the restaurateur Itzik Kadosh, who also owns Sorento, a dairy Italian restaurant at the same address, and opened Picual, a kosher fine-dining restaurant, beside the two in 2025, mynet wrote that August. By its own account, its story began while the place was being built: the architect who designed it, Yuval Eliyahu, suggested a trip to Istanbul to buy the kitchen equipment, they fell for Turkish food and hospitality there, and in 2019, three months before the pandemic, they decided to make it Turkish, flew all its managers to Turkey and went on to make more than 20 trips to Istanbul. Rest's list of the city's best restaurants of 2018 had described a kosher meat restaurant with a digital table on which a tiny projected chef plated the dishes while diners waited. HaShikma reported in April 2019 that chef Arik Vakil had taken over its kitchen three months earlier and changed the menu, Kipa wrote that September of a renovation costing millions of shekels, and Walla's Kinan Cohen, reviewing it in August 2021, credited Kadosh and Vakil with the turn from Italian to Turkish cooking and found fezzes on the tables and carpets on the floor. The menu runs from pâté brûlée, cigars filled with chicken livers and lahm bi ajeen to pide, a veal knafeh, Urfa kebab and steaks from the Josper grill. Its beef comes from a private pasture in the Golan Heights and is aged for at least 45 days, and the cuts on the bone are sold by weight; Walla described the cut being wheeled to the table on a cart and carved there. On Sundays Yilmaz, a violinist from Istanbul who played for the singer Ibrahim Tatlises, performs, and every visit comes, it says, with a glass raised to şerefe, Turkish for cheers. It hosts private events, arranged on WhatsApp; Kipa counted two rooms for up to 100 guests in 2019. Rest's magazine put it in 2022 on a list of eleven meat restaurants under Badatz mehadrin supervision, and mako's list of kosher restaurants for Passover 2025 included it.
