A big Asian restaurant and sushi bar in a former aluminium factory in Rishon LeZion's old industrial zone, open since 2000

Soho is an Asian restaurant and sushi bar on Moshe Beker Street in Rishon LeZion's old industrial zone, among the garages and workshops east of the city centre, and it opened in 2000. As mako told the story in 2014, it was the second venture of three young partners, Bentzi Ben Simchon, Erez Mosscho and Smadar Chen Hallali, after a bar they called Izo Bar closed within two years; Mosscho found a former aluminium factory in the industrial zone, and they opened an Asian restaurant there with an aquarium and dim lighting. The company that runs it today is named Izobar. Ben Simchon, its owner and partner, told N12 in 2023 that Rishon then had nowhere to go out and no sushi bars, "and we said that we were really bringing Tel Aviv to Rishon". Itzik Barel, the restaurant manager, has worked there for more than 21 years, by Walla's account in 2025. In 2014 mako counted 250 seats and some 1,100 diners a day, and in 2023 Calcalist's Hilik Gurfinkel found a dark room with pop images on the walls, more like a nightclub than a restaurant, where orders go in on touch screens. The menu on its website runs to more than 160 dishes: maki, nigiri, sashimi and inside-out rolls such as the Typhoon, combination platters, dim sum, gyoza and steamed buns, salads, pad thai and other noodles, curries, fish and seafood, cuts from the Japanese grill and large desserts. Walla named its best sellers in 2025 as the panko salmon buns, the pad thai and the cookies-and-cream pyramid, and the garlic and honey chicken, the gyoza and the egg roll as dishes served since the early days. On weekdays until 18:00 the whole menu is 10% off, and it also delivers from its own ordering site and app, with pickup from the hostesses' stand or service at the car, and through Wolt. It opens at 11:00 and stays open past midnight, and its staff told Walla that a ring comes out at least once a month. Lin Levi of mako chose its sushi as Rishon LeZion's dish in her October 2025 list of 30 dishes in 30 cities, and ynetnews included it among Israel's best sushi restaurants in June 2026. Rest's magazine announced that its 25th-year celebrations would open on 30 July 2025 with a dinner cooked together with chef Yonatan Roshfeld.

Sources disagree on these hours

Its contact page gives Sunday to Wednesday 11:00 to 01:00, and 11:00 to 02:00 at the weekend, which here means Thursday to Saturday. Rest gives 11:00 to 02:00 every day and marks it open on Friday and on Saturday. Its booking page on Ontopo takes tables every day from 11:00 until 23:30 and keeps serving until the last guest leaves. Its Google listing, as Wanderlog copies it, gives Sunday to Thursday 11:00 to 01:00 and Saturday 12:00 to 01:00, and no hours for Friday, and ynetnews wrote in June 2026 that it opens at noon. Wolt takes orders from it every day from 11:00 to 01:00; those are delivery hours.
