A kosher Asian restaurant in the Mall 7 compound by Sderot's railway station: sushi, noodle and rice dishes from the wok, and a bar with sake.
Sushimoto began in its owners' home kitchen and with a neighbour's car, which is where the name comes from: "sushi with a car" in Hebrew became Sushimoto. Its site says the most common reaction to the plan was "People eat sushi in Sderot?". The kitchen is kosher and ranges across Asia, from an Indian curry to pad thai and sushi, with a few fusion dishes. The room seats about 120 and has a bar with sake, a VIP room with karaoke and sushi workshops for up to 14 people. It delivers to Sderot, the kibbutzim of the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council and the moshavim around them, Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 to 23:00 and on Saturday night until midnight, and it has a second restaurant in Yavne. Mako wrote in June 2026 that it has been in the city for 15 years, that its owner is Nir Shohat of Kibbutz Nir Am, and that it is the only place in Sderot for ramen.
