A bakery on Salame Street founded by two pastry chefs, with a changing daily range of breads and pastries baked on site

Amita is a bakery on Derech Shlomo, the street also known as Salame, with a second shop on Bialik Street. Anna Shapiro and Michal Bouton, the two pastry chefs and bakers behind it, each ran the dessert departments of well-known restaurants before joining forces. Its site says the idea took shape at the end of the first wave of the coronavirus, around hosting at home: the shop sells cakes, cookies, breads and sweet and savoury pastries beside salads, house spreads, wine and cheeses. The baking rests on traditional doughs and techniques with seasonal produce, and the range of breads and pastries changes daily. It also prepares trays for hosting and has parking beside the shop.
