A kosher pastry shop on the corner of HaAliya and Matalon streets that dates itself to Tel Aviv, 1922, and bakes bourekas, rugelach and cream cakes of the old kind

Puni Bakery stands on the corner of HaAliya and Matalon streets, and its site carries the line Tel Aviv, 1922 under its name. The hot and fresh counter has crisp bourekas with kashkaval, Bulgarian cheese, spinach and cheese or ricotta, vegan ones with potato, spinach, aubergine or mushrooms, pizza, yeast cakes with chocolate or cinnamon and nut ganache, rugelach and cheese pastries. Its cakes of old include cremeschnitte, layered tortes with real whipped cream, cream roulades with strawberries or cherries, a baked cheesecake, and a poppy seed cake made without gluten. Among what it calls its specials are meringue kisses, handmade marzipan and a savarin filled with sweet cream. The council lists it as kosher, and it sends deliveries.
