Decks is a restaurant on the water at the Lido on Gdud Barak Road, built of local basalt and inspired by ancient architecture, with the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights in front of it. Its menu is meat and locally caught fish, grilled over charcoal from olive, citrus and nut trees, and its site says the lamb, beef and geese are raised by farmers especially for it. In summer it seats up to 450 on the upper deck and 200 on the lower deck, and up to 350 in winter, and its kitchen is mehadrin kosher. It belongs to Lido Kinneret, which also runs the Pagoda beside it and a fleet of ten boats on the lake. For a birthday, an anniversary or a bar mitzvah, the lights go down and a Lido boat sails up to the restaurant's balcony out of the dark with music and marine torches while a greeting is read out to the table.
