A family boutique brewery in the culinary compound at the entrance to Tzukim, brewing Ktzara beer and opening its bar on summer Thursday evenings and winter Friday afternoons.
Its site tells of a very thirsty couple in the Arava who began brewing beer at home as a hobby at the start of the millennium; the hobby grew into Arava Brewery, an independent family boutique brewery that has stood in the culinary compound at the entrance to Tzukim since 2014. Its beer, Ktzara, comes as a blond, an amber, a dark porter and an IPA, and it is served at the brewery, in chosen restaurants and in 12-bottle cases from its online shop. A half-hour tour, booked ahead from Sunday to Thursday, walks through every stage of brewing, tastes the raw materials and every beer, and ends with a case made up to taste. The bar opens its taps on Thursday evenings in summer and on Friday afternoons in winter.
