After naval fighter basic training, fighters spend about 4 months in Snapir training: seamanship, rubber boats, small arms and fitness on land and at sea.
Later in their service fighters can go on to counter-terror, diving and command courses.
The way into Snapir runs through 3 steps.
- 1For men: the naval fighter try-out, then the Snapir and Yaltam screening and try-out.
- 2For women: the online naval screening, then the Snapir try-out.
- 3Naval medical checks and a security check.
Training at Snapir runs through these stages.

- Snapir training
The IDF's guides say what to train for before the screening.
The naval fighters' try-out lasts two days at the Navy's training base in Haifa. The IDF's fitness guide builds the running and strength it asks for over weeks, with 3 to 5 aerobic and 2 to 3 strength sessions a week.
