Gordon was born in Binyamina in 1966. As a child he played tennis, table tennis and football, and he studied at the agricultural high school in Pardes Hanna. He chose basketball and played for the Maccabi Hadera youth team.

In 1984 he joined Maccabi Haifa under coach Pini Gershon and scored a game-winning shot in his first league game. He moved to Hapoel Haifa in 1989 and to Hapoel Galil Elyon a year later.

In 1991 he signed with Hapoel Jerusalem. Financial problems led him to leave for Hapoel Holon in 1994, and he returned to Jerusalem in 1995. He led the league in assists in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1996.

In 1996 his winning shot against Maccabi Tel Aviv gave Jerusalem its first State Cup. In 1997 the team won the cup again and reached the FIBA Saporta Cup quarterfinals. He retired in June 1998.

With the Israel national team he played at the 1986 World Championship and at EuroBasket in 1987, 1993 and 1995. He played 118 games for the team.
