Amir Farhi

Amir Farhi was born in 1983

Amir Farhi was born in 1983 and grew up in Ramat Gan. He is married and has 2 children.

He holds a bachelor's degree in government, diplomacy and strategy from Reichman University and a master's degree in political science from the University of Haifa. He also completed the Global Strategy Program at the Royal College of Defence Studies and a postgraduate certificate at King's College London.

He joined the IDF in 2002 and volunteered for Shayetet 13. During the Second Intifada he took part in operations in Gaza and the West Bank, and he later fought in Operation Summer Rains, the Second Lebanon War, Operation Hot Winter and Operation Cast Lead. He commanded the unit's raiding force from 2007 to 2009 and a combat company from 2016.

In 2017 he became head of the office of Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and continued under Aviv Kochavi. In 2019 he was promoted to colonel and took command of the Hetzi HaEsh reserve commando brigade. He commanded Shayetet 13 from 2021 to 2023.

After studies abroad he retrained in the Armored Corps. From 2024 to 2026 he commanded the Combat Command Training Center as a brigadier general, training battalion and company commanders.
