Arik Moyal

Arik Moyal was born in 1980 in Beersheba

Arik Moyal was born in 1980 in Beersheba and grew up there. He studied at the Ohel Shlomo yeshiva and at the Kerem B'Yavneh yeshiva.

He joined the IDF in 2000 and served in the Nahal Brigade reconnaissance unit, later commanding it from 2008 to 2010. He went on to train recruits at the Nahal training base and served as the brigade's operations officer.

In 2017 he became a lieutenant colonel and took command of Battalion 931. He then served as operations officer of the Southern Command and, from 2021, as a colonel commanding the Menashe Brigade, including during Operation Home and Garden.

In September 2023 he became commander of the Tactical Command College, and in June 2025 he took command of the Nahal Brigade. In July 2026 his appointment as chief of staff of the Northern Command was approved.

He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science and a master's in business administration from Ariel University. He lives in Kfar Tapuach, is married to Emuna and has 8 children. His brother Shaul was killed in battle in southern Lebanon.
