Avihai Hollender

Avihai Hollender was born in 1992 in Petah Tikva

Hollender was born in 1992 in Petah Tikva and grew up there. His parents are Nechama and Shalom. He was drawn to music from a young age and studied at the Kinor David musical yeshiva high school.

He served as a combat soldier in the Egoz Unit during Operation Protective Edge and fought in the Battle of Shuja'iyya. He lost friends from his unit there, which left him with psychological trauma and shaped his music.

He released his first single, "Lo Nirga", in November 2020 as part of a fundraising campaign for Mafteach Soul. In August 2023 he released his first album, "Yadayim VeDmama", writing and composing most of its songs. Many of his later songs honor fallen soldiers, including "Galaxia" in memory of Major Shilo Har-Even.

Hollender supports disabled IDF veterans and works to raise awareness of trauma. He takes part in Mafteach Soul, a music education program of the Israeli Conservatory of Music Tel Aviv for people coping with combat stress. He is married to Brit and has 3 children.
