David Resnick was born in 1924 in Rio de Janeiro

Resnick was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1924 and grew up in a secular Zionist home. He studied architecture there and, while still a student, worked in the office of Oscar Niemeyer. He met his wife Rachel in a Hashomer Hatzair training program.

In 1949 the couple immigrated to Israel and joined Kibbutz Ein Hashofet, where he worked for 2 years. He then moved to Tel Aviv to work for architect Zeev Rechter, and later went to Jerusalem as a partner of Heinz Rau. In 1958 he opened his own office in Jerusalem.

With Rau he designed the synagogue on the Hebrew University Givat Ram campus. His other works include Yad Kennedy, the Beit Hahayal and Yad Labanim complex in Jerusalem, the Israeli embassy in Brasilia and the Hyatt hotel. In 1985 he joined the office of his son, architect Baruch Resnick, and he also taught at the Technion and Bezalel.

He served as director of the Association of Israeli Architects. He lived in Jerusalem in the Lev Rehavia complex he designed, and died in 2012. He was buried on Har Hamenuchot.
