In 1951 he immigrated to Israel with his father. They lived for 7 years in the Kiryat Nahum transit camp near Haifa Bay. He served in the Combat Engineering Corps as a mines and demolition instructor.
He studied architecture and town planning at the Technion in Haifa. In his fourth year he won first prize in a public competition to plan the Barnea housing quarter in Ashkelon. This let him open his own office in Tel Aviv right after graduating.
He later won competitions for a performing arts center in Tel Aviv, which was not built, and for the Beersheba Performing Arts Center. His projects include housing in Gilo in Jerusalem and in Maale Adumim, and the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera with other architects. He was later invited to teach at the Technion.
