Dora Gad was born in 1912 in Câmpulung

Dora Siegel was born in 1912 in Câmpulung, Romania. She grew up in her grandfather's home and attended a Hebrew school and a government school.

From 1930 to 1934 she studied engineering and architecture at the technical university in Vienna. There she met architecture student Heinrich Yehezkel Goldberg. They married in 1936, moved to Mandatory Palestine and settled in Tel Aviv.

She first worked in the office of architect Oskar Kaufmann and began working on her own in 1938. In 1942 she and her husband opened an office designing private apartments. Her style was light and modern, using strong local light and local materials such as wool, straw and felt.

After her husband died in 1958, she formed the Gad-Noy firm with Arieh Noy. The firm designed government projects, including the Israel Museum with Al Mansfeld and the Knesset interiors. In 1959 she married general Ephraim Ben-Artzi.

The Gad-Noy firm operated until 1976, and she kept working on her own until her death on December 31, 2003. In her last decade she helped found the interior design department of the College of Management.
