Doron Zeilberger was born in 1950 in Haifa

Doron Zeilberger was born on 2 July 1950 in Haifa.

He earned his doctorate at the Weizmann Institute of Science in 1976. His thesis dealt with discrete analytic functions, and his advisor was Harry Dym.

He became a Board of Governors Professor of Mathematics at Rutgers University. His research covers combinatorics, hypergeometric identities and q-series. He gave the first proof of the alternating sign matrix conjecture, and in 2011 he proved the q-TSPP conjecture with Manuel Kauers and Christoph Koutschan.

Zeilberger holds ultrafinitist views. He lists his computer, named Shalosh B. Ekhad, as a co-author of his papers, and he publishes his opinions online.

He received the Steele Prize with Herbert Wilf in 1998, the Euler Medal in 2004 and the David P. Robbins Prize in 2016. In May 2010 Rutgers held a 2-day conference in his honor.
