Dov Feigin was born in 1907 in Luhansk
Dov Feigin was born in 1907 in Luhansk, then in the Russian Empire. His father was a tailor, and he attended a Russian public school and a Talmud Torah. In 1920 the family moved to Gomel, where he joined Hashomer Hatzair.
In 1924 he was arrested for belonging to the movement and sentenced to 3 years in prison. After his release in 1927 he emigrated to the Land of Israel and joined the group that became Kibbutz Afikim.
In the 1930s he moved to Tel Aviv and studied sculpture at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. He returned in 1937 and joined the Association of Painters and Sculptors. His early works were traditional, such as portraits and stone statues.
In 1948 he joined the New Horizons group and took part in its exhibitions until 1963. From 1956 he sculpted in iron, and his work became more abstract. He made many public works, including a wall at Yad Kennedy in 1966.
In 1979 he acted in the film The Weinshall Affair. He died on September 22, 2000.
