Melanie Peres

Melanie Peres was born in 1971 in West Berlin

Peres was born in West Berlin to a Christian father and a Jewish mother born in Israel. After her parents separated, she stayed with her father. At 15 she moved to Israel to live with her mother and spent time at an absorption center in Upper Nazareth, speaking no Hebrew at first.

At 16 she left school and moved to Tel Aviv, where she worked as a cleaner and a waitress. She began modeling in 1989 and later appeared in campaigns for Israeli brands such as Castro, Bonita and Honigman. For Honigman she also designed a clothing line under her own name.

Her acting work includes the TV drama Abbaleh, the film The Syrian Bride, and the series Weekly Story and Noah's Ark. In 2010 she starred in Eitan Zur's film Naomi, which was selected for the Critics' Week at the Venice Film Festival. In 2012 she appeared in the series Strike.

In music, she sang the duet Running Fast with Yahli Sobol as part of the project 30, and recorded a cover of Mad World for the film Lost Islands. From 2008 to 2023 she was married to actor Itay Tiran. In 2014 she returned to modeling after a break of about 4 years.
