Mordechai Weiss

Mordechai Weiss was born in 1982

Aharon Mordechai (Mordi) Weiss was born in 1982. He studied at the Bnei David pre-military academy in Eli.

He joined the IDF in 2002 and volunteered for the Paratroopers, where he was accepted to the Paratroopers reconnaissance unit. He became a platoon commander and fought in the Second Intifada and the Second Lebanon War. He later commanded companies, including an operational company in Battalion 101, led the training unit in Sayeret Matkal, and commanded a training cycle at the Paratroopers basic training base.

In 2018 he became a lieutenant colonel and commander of Battalion 101, and from 2020 to 2021 he commanded the Gefen Battalion. In 2021 he was promoted to colonel and led the Ephraim Brigade until 2023. He then served as operations officer of the Northern Command during the fighting in Lebanon in the Swords of Iron War, and in 2025 he took command of the Oz Brigade.

Weiss holds a bachelor's degree in political science and military and security studies from the University of Haifa. He lives in Eli, is married and has 8 children.
