Orit Strock was born in 1960 in Jerusalem

Strook was born Orit Cohen in Jerusalem in 1960, to a family of Hungarian origin. Her middle name, Malka, honors her grandmother, a poet. She grew up in Kiryat Yovel and attended the Hebrew University Secondary School.

As a student she became religious and studied at Machon Meir. She did national service and later married Avraham Strook, a student of Rabbi Haim Drukman. The couple lived in Yamit and, after the Sinai evacuation, moved to the Jewish settlement in Hebron.

After the Cave of the Patriarchs was closed in 1994, she led a women's committee working to reopen it to Jews. From 2000 she headed the legal and political department of the Jewish community in Hebron. She founded the Human Rights Organization of Judea and Samaria and headed it from 2004 to 2012.

She was elected to the Knesset in 2013 on The Jewish Home list for Tkuma, and was not elected in several later elections. She returned in 2021 with the Religious Zionist Party. In December 2022 she became Minister of Settlements and National Missions.

She lives in the Avraham Avinu neighborhood in Hebron. She has 11 children and 12 grandchildren.
