Rami Gershon was born in 1988 in Rishon LeZion

Gershon was born in Rishon LeZion in 1988 to a family of Greek-Jewish and Iraqi-Jewish descent. He earned a bachelor's degree in education and society and a master's degree in business administration from Ono Academic College.

He started at Hapoel Rishon LeZion and helped the senior team win promotion to Liga Leumit. In 2009 he went on trial with Standard Liège, which loaned and later bought him, then sent him on loan to Kortrijk. In 2013 he was loaned to Celtic and scored on his debut, and the club won the Scottish league that season.

After a season at Waasland-Beveren, he signed with Gent in 2014 and won the club's first Belgian title in 2014-15. A knee operation in 2015 kept him out for most of the following season.

In 2017 he returned to Israel and joined Maccabi Haifa, where he was named captain in 2018. With the club he won 3 league titles, the Toto Cup and 2 Super Cups. He played 21 times for Israel and scored against Malta and Portugal.

Gershon retired from playing in December 2025 and works as a scout for Maccabi Haifa. He has been married to model Neta Alchimister since 2019, and they have a child.
