Shoshana Strook was born in 1987 in Jerusalem
Strook was born in Jerusalem in 1987. She was one of 11 children of Orit and Avraham Strook and grew up in the Religious Zionist community in Hebron. Her mother became a leader in the Religious Zionist Party and Minister of Settlements and National Missions.
She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and education from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2015. She began a master's degree in cognitive psychology but did not finish it. For a time she lived in Italy.
In 2025 she filed a police complaint accusing her parents of sexual abuse, and a gag order was placed on the case. The police suspended the investigation for lack of evidence, and on 22 April 2025 a judge upheld the gag order. She kept posting allegations on social media, including claims of forced conversion therapy, and said she feared for her safety.
In early 2026 she left her home and launched a crowdfunding campaign, saying she lacked stable housing. She was found dead on 14 March 2026 in a vacation rental in Amirim. Police said they did not suspect foul play, and she was buried in the Old Jewish Cemetery in Hebron.
