Yehudit Arnon was born in 1926 in Komárno, Czechoslovakia, to an Orthodox Jewish family. She was the youngest of 3 children. Her father owned a bicycle shop.

In 1944 she and her parents were deported to Auschwitz, where her parents were murdered in the gas chambers. She was sent to forced labor and later to a death march. The Red Army freed her in 1945.

After the war she lived in Budapest, joined the Hashomer Hatzair movement and studied dance. In 1946 she married Yedidya Ahronfeld. The couple cared for child Holocaust survivors in Italy and moved with them to Israel in 1948, joining Kibbutz Ga'aton.

She opened a dance studio in Ga'aton in 1956 and founded the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in 1970. She was its artistic director until 1996.

In 2007 she was among the initiators of the Dance Village project in Ga'aton. She died in 2013 and was buried at the kibbutz.
