Yoram Globus was born in 1941 in Tiberias

Globus was born in Tiberias to Jewish parents from Poland. His family moved to Kiryat Motzkin, where his father Shmuel built a cinema. As a boy he helped there and later worked as its projectionist.

He graduated from business school. He served in the IDF in the Golani Brigade and was discharged as a lieutenant.

After his service he began working with Menahem Golan, and the two founded the production company Noah Films. They produced many Israeli films, including Kazablan, Lemon Popsicle and Operation Thunderbolt. In 1974 they made their first Hollywood film, Lepke.

In 1978 the two moved to Hollywood and bought The Cannon Group. By the mid-1980s Cannon made about 40 films a year and bought cinemas across Europe and the United States. Globus developed a pre-sale method of financing films, and in 1990 he became president of MGM.

In 1993 he returned to Israel and focused on Globus Group, which ran cinemas, film distribution and studios in Neve Ilan. In 2015 he sold Globus Max and went back to Hollywood to found Rebel Way Entertainment.
