Yuval Abraham was born in 1995 in Omer
Yuval Abraham was born in 1995 in Beersheba to a family of Mizrahi and Ashkenazi Jewish background. His Yemenite Jewish grandfather spoke Arabic fluently. One grandmother was born in an Italian concentration camp in Libya, and one grandfather lost most of his family in the Holocaust.
He was drafted into the IDF Intelligence Corps but left the army after a short time for political and personal reasons. He then volunteered for two years with Israeli and Palestinian children in schools. He learned Arabic, met Palestinians in the West Bank, and later taught Arabic.
In 2019 he and journalist Ahmed Alnaouq founded Across the Wall, a platform that translated Palestinian stories into Hebrew. The project stopped in November 2023 after 23 members of Alnaouq's family were killed in Israeli bombing. Abraham works as an investigative reporter for +972 Magazine and Local Call, and his reports dealt with the IDF's use of artificial intelligence systems in the Gaza war.
He co-directed No Other Land with Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal and Rachel Szor. The film won 2 awards at the Berlin festival in 2024, where his speech led to accusations of antisemitism and threats against him. In 2026 his film NAZA, made with Szor, won the Special Jury Prize in Venice, and Israeli ministers called to revoke his citizenship.
