בעל מקרקעין יעקור על שורשיו, או יגדע בגובה מישור הקרקע וימרח על החתך 2.4 D, כל עץ אשר בגזע הראשי שבו נתגלו סימני המחלה, מיד עם הופעת סימנים אלה.
