8. הסמכת עובד משרד החוץ לגבי זר השוהה מחוץ לישראל
הסמכויות הנתונות לפי הוראות סעיפים 3, 4 ו־5 לעובד רשות האוכלוסין וההגירה שהשר הסמיכו לכך, יהיו נתונות לעובד משרד החוץ ששר החוץ הסמיכו לכך, לגבי זר השוהה מחוץ לישראל ומבקש לקבל אשרה לצורך כניסה לישראל, ויחולו על עובד משרד החוץ שהוסמך כאמור הוראות חוק זה החלות על עובד רשות האוכלוסין וההגירה, בשינויים המחויבים.
