12. אישור מועמדות
לא תאושר מועמדותו של אדם לכהונת רב עיר אם מתקיים לגביו אחד מן האמורים להלן:
(א)הוא חבר המועצה הדתית, אלא אם כן מסר במועד הצגת מועמדותו הודעה על התפטרותו מחברותו במועצה הדתית;
(ב)הוא הורשע בעבירה פלילית או בעבירת משמעת שיושב ראש ועדת הבחירות החליט שמפאת חומרתה, אופייה ונסיבותיה אין הוא ראוי לכהן כרב עיר;
(ג)הוא בן 70 ומעלה;
(ד)הוא אינו אזרח ישראל.
