לא נדחה צאתו של חניך לשירות סדיר לפי חוק שירות בטחון, תש״ט–1949, על מנת לאפשר לחניך לסיים את החניכות, והחניך יצא לשירות סדיר כאמור, תופסק החניכות לתקופת השירות.
