6. פקיעת כהונה
חבר המועצה יחדל לכהן לפני תום תקופת כהונתו בהתקיים אחד מאלה:
(1)הוא התפטר במסירת כתב התפטרות לשר;
(2)חדל להתקיים בו התנאי שבסעיף 4(א) שמכוחו מונה;
(3)הוא הורשע בעבירה כאמור בסעיף 4(ה).
