1. מטרת החוק
תיקון: תשס״ד
מטרתו של חוק זה למנוע שיבוט לצורכי רביה בבני אדם על ידי קביעה שלא יתבצעו סוגים של התערבות גנטית בבני אדם וזאת לאור ההיבטים המוסריים, המשפטיים, החברתיים והמדעיים של סוגי התערבות האסורים, והשלכותיהם על כבוד האדם, ולשם בחינת מדיניות בנוגע לסוגי ההתערבות האמורים לאור היבטים אלה, תוך התחשבות בחופש המחקר המדעי לצורך קידום הרפואה.
